Read This First, but not every time!

imageThis is my NEW View From The Mountain website.  It’s been 10 years since my first site went up and each year I’ve said that I’m going to update it. Finally, this year (2013) I took a class in WordPress and this is the result. The main reason for the site is to have a place to show my photography. While I have kept a journal most of my life, the idea of having a BLOG struck me as egotistical, self-serving and more than a little presumptuous that any one would care about what I said! A part of me still thinks that, but writing helps me to clarify my thoughts, so I decided, WHY NOT! While I like validation as well as the next neurotic person, I personally find receiving ‘praise’ or ‘criticism’ terribly embarrassing. As I learned with my photography a long time ago, there is no accounting for taste! I make images because the Muse whispers in My ear. I style the images to fit My eye and style. Several years ago, I prepared several (what I thought were killer) images, matted and framed them for an art show. I also brought along several images that had promise, but had not been fully finished. My framed killer images hung on the wall, as people spent hours flipping through what I considered secondary images. So who has the ‘better eye’? The killer images are hanging in my home, and I was paid for the others. A Win-Win!
This was a long-winded way of saying, I’m doing this for Me! If you find my blog interesting, great! If you don’t, that’s OK, too!

    Greetings from Alabama,
Hope you and Dianna are doing well. It has been an eventful year for us. Ray had had some health issues, but following surgery and a mild stroke
he doing well. We have been working on a house project almost all year and are hoping to be finished soon. We still miss you as neighbors. Your successors are just not the same. We also miss your beautiful calendars. I was looking for your website to purchase one and can’t seem to figure it out. Are you still making them? If do, please send me the link to the place to order one. Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hugs, Merrily & Ray
